Provides weatherization services to income-qualified households. The goal of the weatherization program is to aid families in lowering their heating costs and in providing a healthier, more comfortable home.

The Section 504 Home Repair Loan and Grant Program helps homeowners in eligible rural areas remove health and safety hazards, repair, improve, or modernize their homes, and make them accessible to people with disabilities. The maximum loan amount is $40,000 (the term is 20 years at 1%), and the maximum grant amount is $10,000. Loans and grants can be combined for assistance.

WASHINGTON GORGE ACTION PROGRAMS
HOME WEATHERIZATION
The Weatherization Program is designed to assist low-income households in making their homes more energy-efficient. A performance test is conducted to determine which energy-saving measures or tasks are needed. These tasks may include insulating under floors, in attics, or in walls; cleaning furnaces and duct work; sealing duct work; and appliance replacement.

WEATHERIZATION AND ENERGY EDUCATION
Weatherization services are available to qualifying homes and apartments, providing a holistic approach to ensure home safety, maximum energy savings, and housing affordability. Energy education services provide one-on-one client meetings, energy audits by the YCAP energy technician, and workshops. Low-cost self-help kits are available to households to reduce their energy burden.

Eligibility: Households that are renting or own their own home with a household income below the 200% federal poverty guidelines. In a duplex or a quadraplex, 50% of the units must be occupied by income-eligible households in order for the entire building to qualify for weatherization. In other multi-dwelling applications, require that 66% of the units meet the gross income guidelines.
