Assists the public by identifying and regulating the practice of licensed professional counselors and licensed marriage and family therapists. Investigates complaints regarding violations of the law and rules and the competency of licensees. Issues new and renewed licenses, disciplines misconduct, and communicates information about licensure, practice, and discipline. Develops and maintains professional standards for the professions of professional counseling and marriage and family therapy.
