Wildlife Issues: Federal and state laws do not allow animal control officers to address problems, handle, relocate, or otherwise interfere with any types of wildlife, including but not limited to raccoon, opossum, birds, or other animals.

Officers may be available to answer questions and assist on the scene until appropriate resources can be summoned to assist you.

Provides adoption of dogs, picks up strays, handles nuisance complaints, and provides licensing services. Also offers microchipping and rabies vaccinations for licensed dogs.

Adoption services include shots, licenses, exams, and spay/neuter. Accepts stray animals from Multnomah County, and limited owner-surrendered animals as capacity allows. Provides dead animal removal of strays and wildlife from public property. Volunteer opportunities available. Donations welcome.

Provides information about city requirements for keeping honeybees and livestock in an urban environment. Livestock animals include but are not limited to: chickens, turkeys, pigs, rabbits, goats, horses, and cattle.

Report sick, injured, stranded, or orphaned land and marine animals. Removing or capturing wildlife from the wild and keeping it in captivity without a permit is against the law. It is considered a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and a $6250 fine.
