WEATHERIZATION PROGRAM
Provides free weatherization services to income-eligible homeowners and renters. Older adults and adults with disabilities are prioritized. Job costs are paid by funding from federal grants and participating utilities. Energy audits and inspections are done by agency staff. Installation is completed by licensed and bonded private contractors.

Weatherization measures designed to reduce energy consumption may include:
-Attic, wall, and floor insulation
-Improved venting in attic and underfloor
-Whole house air sealing and installation of continuous ventilation
-Weatherstripping of doors
-Installation of thermal replacement windows
-Installation of carbon monoxide detectors and smoke alarms
-Sealing and insulation of HVAC ducts
-Diagnostic testing to identify and locate air leakage
-Servicing of furnaces and installation of digital thermostats
-Minor weatherization-related health and safety repairs (no emergency home repairs)
-Installation of energy-efficient refrigerators and compact fluorescent bulbs

Eligibility: Income-qualified applicants (homeowners or renters). Certain households are given priority in accordance with federal guidelines, as well as available funding resources:

1st priority: Households with an older adult (age 60 or older)
2nd priority: Households with a member who receives Social Security Disability benefits
3rd priority: Households with children age 6 and under
4th priority: All other households
