CHILD WELFARE SERVICES
Provides protective services assessment for child victims of abuse and neglect, investigation of suspected medical neglect, family restorative services, substitute care (foster care), permanent foster care, adoption resources for both adoptive parents and children who have been adopted, independent living program for ages 18-21 who are former or current foster children, supportive services to eligible children and families such as resource workers in the home and parent training. This program includes assistance to eligible children who fall under the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). Office also recruits and trains qualified individuals and families to provide permanent and temporary substitute care for children in state custody (foster parents/families).
