MILITARY ASSISTANCE PANEL
Administers a referral panel that lists lawyers willing to provide volunteer legal assistance (pro bono) primarily related to the Servicemembers' Civil Relief Act (SCRA), which provides additional legal protection to persons entering or called to active duty in the US Armed Forces. Many volunteer lawyers also assist with family law, consumer/credit law, real property/landlord-tenant law, and estate planning issues.

INTAKE PROCEDURE: Call the Oregon Army National Guard for an authorization number (military reference or "MR") and then call the Lawyer Referral Service for a referral to a participating lawyer.
FEES: No fee for referral. Volunteer lawyers are expect to provide up to 2 hours of legal advice at no charge. It is up to the lawyer and client to decide whether to continue the lawyer/client relationship beyond the pro bono consultation.
