MIGRANT AND SEASONAL HEAD START AND EARLY HEAD START
Head Start programs provide education, health, nutrition, social, and additional services including developmental screening. Migrant and Seasonal Head Start care is available for migrant children while their parents work in the fields. Program helps preschoolers develop the language, reading and math skills they need to be successful in school. Parental involvement is emphasized. Services for parents and pregnant women include parenting classes, family support, and leadership opportunities. Wrap around child care may also be available.

Eligibility: Children enrolling in Early Head Start must be 6 weeks to 3 years old. Children enrolling in Migrant and Seasonal Head Start must be 3-5 years old, and have parents who are seasonal or migrant workers that have moved from another geographical location within the last 2 years. Family income must be 100% federal poverty level and come primarily from agricultural labor. Priority is given to children with disabilities, homeless families, or families with other significant needs.
