NO Severe Weather


The criteria used to determine a Severe Weather Notice and the corresponding opening of Red Cross emergency shelters is:
A. Forecasted temperature or wind chill 25°F or below.
B. Snow accumulations of 1.0 inch or more sticking to the ground in most locations.
C. Temperature at or below 32°F with driving rain of 1.0 inch or more overnight.

Nonetheless, weather conditions will be challenging for those who are sleeping outside.  Outreach workers and emergency responders will assist in directing unsheltered people to shelters.

Anyone seeking shelter should contact 211info, reached by dialing 2-1-1. 211info will be available to identify shelter and warming center resources 24/7.

Women's Winter Warming Center

Serves: Unaccompanied women

Family Winter Shelter

This is a walk-in facility. It is not necessary to call beforehand. No one will be turned away.

Serves: Families with children under 18 and women in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy

Winter service coordination, provided by 211info, is made possible by a grant from the Portland Housing Bureau. In partnership with other City departments, Multnomah County and community partners, the Portland Housing Bureau coordinates winter and severe weather shelter and day services for homeless individuals in our community.

Hours: Opens at 7pm
Serves: Firt come, first serve. Light dinner and breakfast included. Families, single adults and unaccompanied youth are welcome. In general: no possession or use of drugs/alcohol/marijuana at time of entry. No weapons. No unruly/disruptive behavior. For additional information call Klamath Assembly of God at 541-883-2286.
