211info and UWCW in The
Oregonian
211info and the United Way of the
Columbia-Willamette were recognized by the editorial board of The
Oregonian for their roles in helping those in our community
facing poverty during these economic times.
211info's Deborah Willoughby gave a call center perspective on
211info's role in 2-1-1 calls: "We do a fair amount of
just letting people say their stories," says Willoughby, an
information and referral specialist at 211info. "And what they
say a lot is, 'I never would have believed I'd be in this position.'

It's flu season --
and 211info is here to help
211info operates Oregon
SAFENET, a phone line that directs callers to clinics providing
seasonal flu vaccine throughout Oregon. We can help people find out
the clinics' hours, age range, fees and if they can bill Medicare and
private insurance plans. 211info partnered with the Oregon
Immunization Program and the Oregon Lung Association's Flu Locator
website in order to provide the most up-to-date information.
Call 2-1-1, 1-800-SAFENET, or visit www.211info.org for
an online service directory.
