211info's busy season is approaching. A reminder to callers: you may have to wait a few minutes to speak with an information and referral specialist if you call during peak hours.

For a shorter waiting time, please call Wednesday - Friday, 8am - 10am and 3pm - 6pm.

Our call center hours are
Monday - Friday 8am - 6pm.

211info In-reach Program Launches

The first Last Thursdays Tour of 211info was held on Oct. 29. Last Thursdays is an opportunity for individuals to get a glimpse of the inner workings of 211info. Six community members from various community organizations attended, participated in a presentation about the mission and scope of 211info, toured our agency, and met the 211info staff.

It's flu season -- and 211info is here to help

As flu news coverage escalates many members of the community are left wondering where to turn for information. Where do I get a vaccination? Am I high risk? How can I help protect against the flu? This hotline has those answers.

The problem of mortgage default and foreclosure continues to be a major concern in Oregon. 211info plays an important role by helping direct callers throughout Oregon to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) certified counseling services and legal assistance. 

Thanks to special funding from the Portland Housing Bureau, 2-1-1 is the one simple number to call for foreclosure assistance. Those who need such help in Portland will be directed to one or more of the following organizations:

http://www.fairfaxlions.org/wp-content/gallery/christmas-food-baskets/fairfax-lion-food-baskets-2007-10.jpgMany people experiencing financial difficulty call 2-1-1 seeking information about holiday food baskets, community meals, and toy programs for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Hannukah.  211info's resource staff have spent this past month contacting and compiling information from dozens of agencies with holiday assistance programs, including Salvation Army's Adopt-a-Family, Portland Fire & Rescue's Toy 'N Joy Makers, and Clackamas County's Compassion in Action. Now is the time to access these resources, as community agencies are already beginning to take applications from struggling families. For assistance in locating holiday food, meals, and gifts, call 2-1-1 or visit www.211info.org.
