Free health and dental fair on Sat. Feb 9 in Estacada [Clackamas Co.]

This community resource fair Ffatures social and community services resource booths, basic chiropractic exams, vision and hearing screenings, a dental clinic, haircuts, kids activities and child care.

Some services available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hosted by Compassion Estacada in collaboration with Estacada churches. Volunteers, especially dentists and hygienists, are still needed.

9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sat, Feb. 9. Estacada First Baptist Church, 29101 S.E. Eagle Creek Road, Estacada.

Compassionate service at the core of free one-day clinic [Portland]

Staff

Another Compassion Connect clinic is on the horizon for Portland. Downtown Compassion is focused on offering free health care and other service resources to the uninsured, underinsured and homeless residents of central and downtown Portland. The clinic is the result of local churches, volunteers, social service organizations and community organizations willing to donate their time, resources and professional skills to those in need.

WHAT'S HAPPENING: Several Washington County-based agencies have put their heads together to come up with a win-win solution for the seniors they serve and the people in the community who might be of service. Senior GAP, Home Instead and Hospice of Washington County are co-hosting a forum to get the word out about a variety of volunteer and paid part-time opportunities to work with their clients.
