WHAT’S HAPPENING: A series of free court-approved classes for Clark County parents who face substance abuse issues in the family will be getting underway Nov. 29. The 11-week series covers topics such as child guidance, the recovery process and its effect on families, child development, and how recovery leads to increased stability and development in the parent.
Description: These classes are starting this week in four different locations around Douglas County. The curriculum will zero in on teaching parents how to create positive parent-child interactions and model expected behaviors for their children. Instructors will also provide an overview of normal child development and effective disciplinary strategies.
