School transforms into health clinic in Ridgefield | September 10

free health care
By Deb Kallen, Communications Assistant

As they say, it takes a village, but not just to raise a child. In the case of Compassion Ridgefield, a health and human service fair coming up on September 10, it takes a collective of local churches, volunteers and health professionals working together to bring free health care to members of Clark County who are without insurance or without enough of it to get much needed services.

Compassion Ridgefield is a one-day event that will transform View Ridge Middle School into a neighborhood clinic. Here is what will happen there:

  • Medical exams
  • Dental cleaning and emergency treatment
  • Chiropractic exams
  • Eye exams
  • Social service information and referrals
  • Children’s activities

Residents of Ridgefield, La Center, Woodland, and Vancouver communities who sign a waiver indicating they are low-income and willing to give back to their community through volunteering in the future are welcome to the services offered. The honor system will be in place.

The event is sponsored by Compassion Ridgefield and Ridgefield Nazarene Church.

WHEN: Saturday, September 10 from 9 AM to 3 PM

WHERE: View Ridge Middle School, 510 Pioneer Street, Ridgefield.
