Please donate

So many people I’ve run into this month are slightly frantic preparing for the holidays – baking, shopping and standing in line at the post office to ship gifts before it’s too late. I believe it is human nature to get caught up in what is staring us in the face, like the imminent holiday to-do lists involving our inner circle of friends and family.

My hope is that these random people I see at the gym, at my local Starbucks, well, just about everywhere I go, will save a little bit of their time and energy to remember those who aren’t on their shopping list, people they don’t even know.

This holiday season, there are more Oregon families than in recent history who don’t have gifts to open. Many don’t have shelter or warm clothes. Donation sites are everywhere. As you go around town, wherever you live, keep your eyes open for them and bring these folks some holiday cheer, warm clothes, or food. If you live in Portland, here are a few ideas.
