Places to stay cool in Polk County

There are four places to stay cool in Polk County: 

* Werner University Center from noon to 8 p.m. both days, free parking available in Lot H

* Monmouth Public Library until 8 p.m. on Thursday and 6 p.m. on Friday

* Monmouth Senior Center until 3 p.m. both days

* Independence Library is extending their hours to 8 p.m. on both days
