A place for Salem-area residents grieving the loss of a loved one
At some point in most people’s life someone close to them dies. Everyone handles these losses their own way, but being able to connect with a group of people that can offer support can be a ray of hope.
For Salem area residents, the Willamette Valley Hospice will offer several free series of support groups throughout the mid-valley area in September. Professional counselors will facilitate the meetings. The public is invited and there is no charge, but pre-registration is required.
Locations:
- For adults in Salem, a group will meet on Wednesdays starting September 7th from 2-3:30 pm at the Willamette Valley Hospice offices.
- An adult group in Silverton will meet Thursdays from 6-7:30 pm, starting September 22th, at the Silverton Hospital Family Birth Center.
- Another adult grief group in Woodburn will start on Monday, September 19th and meet from 6-7:30 pm at Cascade Park Retirement Center.
- In addition, Willamette Valley Hospice will offer a group for children, adults, and families starting September 20th from 6-7:30 pm at their offices in West Salem.
For more information or to register for any of the series, please call Willamette Valley Hospice Bereavement Services at 503.588.3600 or toll free at 800.555.2431. Monthly drop-in grief groups are also available. A calendar of events and grief support groups can be found on the Willamette Valley Hospice website.
