Kids celebration in Cornelius on April 25

mother and son high five

There’s Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, even Valentine’s Day for couples. Absent but of equal merit in the holiday calendar is a day for children. No matter what our age, the youth within needs to be recognized and appreciated. One organization, Centro Cultural in Washington County, has turned their Children’s Day Celebration into a tradition, returning for its 15th year this Saturday, April 25 in Cornelius.

At Echo Shaw Elementary School (914 S Linden St. Cornelius, OR 97113) from 11am-4pm, enjoy food, live performances and games sure to delight the whole family. Take direction from your kids, as they ooh and aah at the graceful skill of the Charros (horse riders), clap along to live mariachi music, and explore the many games and activities which accommodate children with disabilities, so everyone can participate. Also, stop by or enter the soccer tournament at Harleman Park happening concurrently with the celebration at Echo Shaw Elementary.

Info booths will also be on site offering resources and information to families. Booth set-up starts at 8am on Saturday, and take down is at 4pm after festivities conclude. Download a handbook on booth logistics and policies, which includes an event map.

You can also download a bilingual English/Spanish event flyer to share.
