Veterans resources at May 22 event in Salem

Operation Veterans Hope is a story of success against intimidating odds. Envisioned as a service project responding to the needs of community veterans, two OHSU nursing students in Monmouth, Denis Marshall and Miki Todosov in a matter of weeks, cobbled together a motley of service providers despite a non-existent budget to serve over 80 veterans.

Based on continued momentum, the two graduating nurses are coordinating a second Operation Veterans Hope event on May 22 in Salem. They want to get the word out to all in need, and are seeking providers to lend their services to this exciting endeavor.

Last year’s event offered clothing, a hot meal, veteran services, dental van, mental health, diabetic support services, blood pressure screenings, vaccinations, women's health seminar, hygiene kits, housing, haircuts, and employment services for example. The two organizers are looking for help fulfilling these same needs for this year’s event. If you are an interested provider, fill out a provider registration form

The event is on Friday, May 22, at Grace Baptist Church in Salem (4197 State St., Salem, OR 97301) from 9am—2pm.
