Community Responds to Oregon City Evacuations

Residents of 52 apartment units and a large homeless camp are being evacuating due to landslide danger in Oregon City. The land is unstable, sewer and storm water lines have been compromised, and the only evacuation route is affected by the landslides.

Oregon City, Clackamas Fire District No. 1, Clackamas County, the American Red Cross and housing programs are joined by other organizations to provide shelter, shuttle buses, social service referrals and shelter for pets.

211info has expanded its Clackamas County hours to provide 24/7 referrals and updated information during the evacuation and landslide crisis. Residents can call 2-1-1 or go to http://211info.org/emergency/#weatheralerts any time through Dec. 28.

Updates and donation information is available at the Oregon City website, http://www.orcity.org/community/forest-edge-evacuations
